When is Dhanteras 2026

Dhanteras, also called Dhanatrayodashi, falls on the thirteenth day (Trayodashi) of the dark fortnight of Kartik. The puja itself is timed to sunset, not to a fixed clock hour, which is why the date can shift slightly by city and by panchang.

Only about six weeks out from today, which is enough time to plan a purchase rather than rush one on the day itself.

Shubh muhurat for Gurgaon and Delhi-NCR

Dhanteras puja is done in the evening, during Pradosh Kaal — the roughly two-and-a-half-hour twilight that opens at sunset. Within that, the period while Vrishabha (a fixed lagna) is active is considered the strongest window for both the puja and for bringing gold or silver home.
